Steve and I both have an insane sweet tooth. When we need chocolate, we need chocolate. youknowwhatimean? A few days ago when we were both about to die after dinner, I whipped up this chocolate cake because we already had the ingredients around the house. And when they say prep time is 10 minutes, they actually mean 8. I was back reading my October Vogue and watching season 4 of the Gilmore Girls in no time.

I found out on Friday night at around 10pm that I needed to bring a dessert to a friends house on Saturday. So I decided to whip up a white cake with butter cream frosting from scratch that night. (Don’t panic, it was actually much less time consuming than I expected.) It’s not perfect by any means, but it was delicious. Which is really all that matters. AmIrightoramIright?

Having a lot of new baking supplies means that I have been doing a whole lot of baking lately. The first thing I made was some mini chocolate chip muffins, a recipe I got from the Betty Crocker Bridal Edition Cookbook (which was a gift at my bridal shower).
Last Sunday Steve and I decided on a whim to make an apple pie. We chose the ‘Apple pie with cheddar cheese’ recipe from this book. The end result didn’t quite look like what it was supposed to, but boy it was tasty.
