Steve’s cousin Sarah and her husband Tim are not only the cutest couple (besides Steve and me, obviously), but they’re also going to have a baby! Which means I had to attempt to be their favorite by giving them handmade baby gifts.
Here’s the best part – I used fabric that I already had. The Mariner’s fabric is from PJ bottoms I made for Steve (probably 5 years ago), the cars and motorcycle fabrics are from PJ bottoms for Steve’s brother Mike and a friend of mine from college, the blue fabric is from a fabric sale a couple of years ago and the striped fabric is from a fabric sale when I worked at Nordstrom – it’s actual men’s shirting material.
I used McCall’s pattern M6016 (I got it for .89 cents at Hancock Fabrics in Vancouver, WA) and went with the size Medium (the Mariner pants), Large (the blue pants and shirt) and X-Large (the shorts) so that Tim and Sarah will be able to spread out the usage. I would say that the sizing was the biggest downfall with this pattern – it wasn’t sized by age/month, it was sized XS-XL. I don’t own a baby of my own so I’m not exactly sure for example, what size Small is equivalent to, or what the waist size of a 9-month-old (size small?) would be. Thankfully I’ve mastered the google tool and was able to find this size chart from to Nordstrom to help me out a bit:

You are so talented Becky and we feel so lucky to have our little one wearing your amazing creations. He will be the most stylin’ baby in Spokane for sure!!
